Our Newest Members 2020

Each spring, our members identify professional women in the New York City area who meet our membership qualifications and are interested in becoming Dames. Each prospective member is nominated by two members of the New York Chapter who are in good standing. The Membership Committee then interviews each candidate and presents its recommendations for new members to the Board for its approval. The number of accepted candidates varies from year to year.

Silvia Baldini is an Italian-born chef (graduated first in her class at Le Cordon Bleu London) who has turned her passion for cooking into an innovative culinary think tank that promotes the cross section of AI technology and the future of women, food and wellness. In her spare time she also promotes distinctive private-label brands from women-owned businesses and has appeared on several culinary TV shows and competitions. Silvia is interested in the PR/Communications, Green Tables, Sponsorship and Programs Committees.

Adrienne Cheatham is the chef and founder of SundayBest Pop-Up Dinner Series, a regular dining experience in Harlem, where she showcases her own culinary style, which melds her French schooling (via mentor Eric Ripert) with her heritage. She is interested in mentoring and doing community outreach with the Green Tables Committee.

Beth Cotenoff is a veteran hospitality industry publicist and marketer, currently serving as Senior Vice President at R/West after stints at some of the top agencies in New York City. She also holds a Level 4 Diploma, among others, from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and wants to impart her wine and event management experience on the Communications and Public Relations Committees.

Ana Paula Galvani started her career teaching Portuguese at the Boston Language Institute but had a special calling to wine. Today, she serves as a Fine and Rare Wine Advisor at Sherry Lehmann Wine & Spirits, specializing in First Growth Bordeaux while helping to put undiscovered gems on the map. Described as “a beacon of light,” Ana Paula is looking forward to serving on the Programs Committee and mentoring.

Lygeia Grace is a recipe editor extraordinaire having edited recipes at Real Simple, O The Oprah Magazine, House & Garden and today as Culinary Editorial Director at Food Network and Cooking Channel where she delivers over 2,500 recipes per year. She is the epitome of a tastemaker and looks forward to sharing her exceptional palate and leadership skills with the LDNY community.

Shirley Hall has run the marketing department at Paris Gourmet for 27 years and organizes the U.S. Pastry Competition, an event she built from scratch over the course of 25 years. Originally a chef, her wide-ranging knowledge of the food business makes her eager to provide mentorship through LDNY.

Diane Henderiks is an accomplished chef, registered dietician and cookbook author. She has appeared on The Chew and ABC-TV's Good Morning America and is the current host of Fresh to Frozen and Back (ROKU and Altice Media). As Brand Ambassador for Loi Products, Diane leads nutrition workshops and culinary demonstrations, focusing on nutrition and healthy cooking. Shin Kim is a cookbook author, authority on Korean cooking and founder/owner of Banchan Story LLC. Her focus is Buddhist temple cuisine, which has a tradition of mindful eating and avoiding waste. Shin has a Culinary Arts Diploma from ICE and worked at Abigail Kirsch Catering, Adour by Alain Ducasse and Gilt at the New York Palace Hotel. Shin is interested in the Scholarship and Communications Committees.

Wanda Mann is founder/editor in chief of wine lifestyle website The Black Dress Traveler and a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) via the Society of Wine Educators. She develops marketing and social media strategies with wine companies. Previously, she organized special events and conferences for the Princeton Club, the Ford Foundation and the Arthur Ashe Foundation. She would like to contribute to the Programs and Scholarship Committees.

Jill Orent is a high-level housewares marketing professional with expertise in kitchen equipment and eating and lifestyle trends. She was the senior vice president at Cuisinart for 20 years and vice president of marketing at Groupe SEB (manufacturer of All Clad and more). Currently Jill is a consultant for culinary manufacturers and eager to apply her business acumen and strategy skills to fundraising and branding for our chapter.
